くきやかな北アルプスや春立ちぬ

Today I could see the Northern Alps of Japan clearly from the window of my room though they had been invisible due to the snow and other bad weather in the depth of winter. 

Tomorrow is 立春 (Risshun), or the first day of spring by the lunar calendar in Japan. 

I think it’s going to stay cold for the next few weeks, but today I felt a little bit the coming of spring. I’m looking forward to the arrival of full-blown spring.
