Tak Matsumoto, the guitarist of B’z, once said about an important moment as follows：

”TM NETWORK gave a concert at Nippon Budokan in1987. The opening number was ”GET WILD.” I thought that my role as a backup guitarist of TM NETWORK was completed at that time. When I accompanied the vocalist Utsunomiya-san on the guitar with seeing his back, I decided to form my own band for some reason.”

   この瞬間、松本さんの頭の中にあった「自分だけのバンド」は、後に、B’z というモンスター・ユニットとして姿を現すことになります。
   松本さんは、TMとは音楽の道を異にしますが、TMのメンバー（小室さん、宇都宮さん、木根さん）との友情は途絶えることなく現在まで続いていることを素晴らしく思います。

Shuichi Kato, a literary critic, wrote down about the writing style of Kyoka Izumi, a Japanese novelist, in his book A HISTORY OF JAPANESE LITERATURE as follows:

“I interpreted the work as follows: I go and enter into the world other than the field being only the sound of Yo-Yo Ma’s cello. In that sense, both of my soul and myself as a Kabuki actor are drawn to the sound of his cello.”

ギタリスト・松本孝弘さんのこと

松本さんは、二十歳の頃、アルバイトに明け暮れる毎日で成人式にも出られなかったとのこと。

友人がスーツや着物で成人式に出かけていたとき、松本さんは、バイト先の楽器屋さんで、商品のギターがお店に並んだ後に山のように残された段ボール箱を、近くの歩道橋の下でつぶす作業をしながら、彼らをうらやましく眺めていたという。

友人たちが身に着けていたものはスーツや和服で、松本さんは作業着と軍手だった。

それから30年後、松本さんは・・・。

When Tak Matsumoto was 20 years old, he worked hard at his part-time job in a music shop.

He was carrying cardboard boxes for the electric guitars sold at the shop, and then he was breaking down them putting on his work gloves under a pedestrian bridge near the shop.

A lot of his friends attended the Coming-of Age ceremony in suits or kimonos.

He regarded them with envious eyes.

30 years later, he won a Grammy Award as a guitarist in 2011.

くきやかな北アルプスや春立ちぬ

Today I could see the Northern Alps of Japan clearly from the window of my room though they had been invisible due to the snow and other bad weather in the depth of winter. 

Tomorrow is 立春 (Risshun), or the first day of spring by the lunar calendar in Japan. 

I think it’s going to stay cold for the next few weeks, but today I felt a little bit the coming of spring. I’m looking forward to the arrival of full-blown spring.

ラジオからカーペンターズが流れくる　ほんのひととき吾の十代

 I love listening to the radio even in this Net age.

Today I happened to listen to the tunes of the Carpenters on my radio. I have their CDs and may listen to their songs on the Net. But the radio is special to me because I heard their songs for the first time on my radio in my teens.

I was able to go back to those days during the listening to their beautiful voices.
