I encountered the following sentence:

"If her poetry only showed the beauties of nature, it would be no great accomplishment."

☆Beyond the beauties of nature. It is worth thinking about. What kind of beauties come to fruition in her work? Love? Friendship? or Social satire? Hmm...difficult, but interesting.

I encountered the following sentence:

"The principal cause of depression is a decline in consumers' desire to spend."

☆Yes, I think the ordinary consumer purchasing power holds the key to the coming economic situation, even if we have no choice but to accept a limited tax hike in the aging society.

Short Daily Entry

Today, I visited an exhibition on the earth's environment in my town hall with my wife.

The exhibition was introducing Aurelio Peccei's activities, Wangari Maathai's GBM & mottainai campaigns, and other global movement.

Wow, my town hall in the country was international. Good!

Anyway, it was good for me to think a bit deeply about the global environmental issues and the creation of a sustainable society.

Thank you for the exhibition.

Thank you very much for your best-sellers.

About the Latest News on AlphaGo

AlphaGo beat Lee Se-dol in the last game today.

It might be time for me to accept the idea that AI's power of decision is superior to human ability to judge and human intuition at least in this field.

It's shocking, but I'd like to believe that a person's worth is various and infinite even in this field and of course in other fields.

Anyway, thank you very much for your historic match, Lee Se-dol and AlphaGo.

About the Latest News on AI

Lee Se-dol beat Go-playing AI AlphaGo today. We can say, at least today, that the AI's power of decision is not perfect.

I'd like to give a clap to the representative player of humankind in appreciation.

I suppose it was difficult not to be caught in the nets of the AI's prediction powers.

What a fine effort he made!

Pulvers Appears in an English Textbook

My second son, a high-school student, told me today that they read the essay The World of Miyazawa Kenji is Our World by Roger Pulvers at the English class this semester.

The word "Genius" also reminded me of my good old high-school days. Thank you, my son.
