ロベール辞書と初めて出会った頃

「私はロベールを手にしたとき、辞書を読むのが面白いということを初めて経験した。ある先生が仏和辞典を作るための参考にロベールを見ていたら、ロベールの面白さにのめり込んで、肝心の仏和辞典が全然進まなかったという話がある。この面白さは、言葉が全身で納得できたときの自由感・自在感の喜びなのだ。」

Japanese novelist Kunio Tsuji wrote in his essay:

"When I had Robert Grand Dictionnaire("Robert") in hand, I experienced for the first time that reading a dictionary was interesting. I have heard a story: One French teacher got deeply involved in the interesting of reading the Robert when he read it as reference to make a French-Japanese dictionary, so he wasn't able to proceed with his important work to make the French-Japanese dictionary. I can say that the interesting was the delight of feeling of freedom and liberty when you were able to understand words with your whole body and mind."
