Yoshiharu Habu, Meijin or a grandmaster of shogi, wrote in his book as follows: 

"Even if you enter a quite dangerous phase in appearance, there is no need to be frightened when you have examined all moves. When great swordsmen fight with real swords each other, even if the point of your enemy's sword approaches the tip of your nose by one centimeter, you may be all right when you have examined all moves."
