When Tamasaburo Bando, a Kabuki actor, played together with Yo-Yo Ma in the work INSPIRED BY BACH, in which J.S. Bach’s Suites for Unaccompanied Cello were adapted for the screen by Yo-Yo, Tamasaboro said as follows: 

“I interpreted the work as follows: I go and enter into the world other than the field being only the sound of Yo-Yo Ma’s cello. In that sense, both of my soul and myself as a Kabuki actor are drawn to the sound of his cello.”
