Japanese novelist Kunio Tsuji once wrote down in his Paris diary as follows:

"It was half past nine in the morning. The sky was dazzling blue. The sunlight made the whole surface of the building shine. The concrete wall facing the court got wet. The air was cold. I bought a newspaper on the main street of Montparnasse and got on a bus from Port-Royal-des-Champs Abbey. The rays of the sun was already strong. The air in the shade was cold and humid. I went to the office of the Sorbonne. The sunlight was spilling in the depths of the grove of Luxembourg Park where there was no sign of life."
